Artech Information Systems, L.L.C. Named Winner of Department of Defense Nunn Perry Award

MORRISTOWN, NJ - March 28, 2005 -- Artech Information Systems L.L.C., a leading provider of project management and software consulting services globally, has been named a 2005 Mentor-Prot'g Nunn Perry award winner by the Department of Defense (DoD). The annual award recognizes successes for both Mentor and Prot'g companies that achieve cost efficiencies, enhance technical capabilities, and increase small business opportunities foe DoD prime contracts and subcontracts.

The mentor-prot'g team of Artech and Booz Allen Hamilton, sponsored by the Defense Information Systems Agency, was presented the award at the 2005 Mentor-Prot'g Conference held March 15th through March 17th at the Wyndham Orlando Resort, in Orlando, Florida. The DoD Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization office sponsored the conference.

The Nunn-Perry Award, named in recognition of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, was first awarded in 1995 to recognize outstanding performance by Mentor-Prot'g teams formed under the DoD Mentor-Prot'g program.

"What we see today is the result of bringing small businesses into the forefront. We are here to recognize these Mentor-Prot'g teams whose extraordinary efforts have exceeded their developmental plan and helped transform the DoD acquisition process," stated Frank M. Ramos, Director, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization.

The Mentor-Prot'g program is the Federal government's leading program for fostering small business growth by teaming small, high potential firms as the prot'g, with large firms as the mentor who are successful government or commercial prime contractors or subcontractors.

"Receiving this award is a testament of our successful relationship and team efforts with Booz Allen Hamilton," said Ranjini Poddar, Artech President. "This is a WIN-WIN-WIN situation for Artech, Booz Allen, and the U.S. government."

Since the inception of Artech's mentor-prot'g agreement with Booz Allen Hamilton in 2001, Artech has increased its employee base by 435% and more than doubled its revenues.
